Gyan Darshan

A bouquet of satellite-based TV channel devoted to educational and developmental needs of the society. An exclusive educational satellite to provide interactive education using DVB-RCS technology. Gyandarshan, Gyanvani and Edusat are pioneering moves by Indira Gandhi National Open University to bring about notable changes in the age old education system through web casting facilities.

It offers distance education through Virtual Class Room mode and provides access to digital repository of educational content hosted at IGNOU. DD-Gyan Darshan, set up by the national Telecaster Doordarshan and Indira Ghandi National Open University, will include programmes for schools, teacher enrichment education, open and distance learning, vocational courses and courses for disadvantaged sections of India.

The initial expenditure for transmitting will be met by the Ministry of Education Government of India.Doordarshan and Indira Ghandi National Open University, with assistance from Ministry of Education GOI and major educational software makers. Gyandarshan-I, Gyandarshan-II and CEC UGC (VYAS) are educational channels from IGNOU. Now these channels also would be available online platform on official website of IGNOU.

Although these channels can be down-link from Insat 3C/4CR / Edusat satellite @ 74° East.
