Introduction: (About text)
War opens a door to a new civilization. Whenever there is
war, it leads revolution of mankind into next level. A well civilized and
alerted one. Today’s hyper technology
Japan was created after the second world war atomic bomb blasting, “The Little
boy” and “The Batman”. The first two
world wars were fought among humans; they have used deadly weapons that took
hundreds and thousands of human lives. But Poet Vairamuthu’s “Third world war”
– Do the human started the war against nature? or the nature started the war
against humans? Whatever it is the result will not be a favour for humans, the
victory still remains for earth. It explicit, how farmers are struggling for
farming. It is a good book for knowing the various facts about the global
warming and how human race is destroying thee nature. It is an Ilakkiya sindhanai award-winning
novel. Three years of extensive research has gone into the making of ‘Moondraam
ulaga por’ and 10 months to write it.The effort has been worthwhile.
About the author:
Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu is the Sahitya Academy award winning
novelist and poet, who is famous for his lyrics for the tamil movoes. He is one
of the versatile writters in Tamil literature today. He is the only lyricist
who has won the national award for lyrics six times. He also won numerous
accolades for his works, including National Film Awards, Padma Shri and Padma
Bhushan. Razor-sharp metaphors and stinging similes mark his writings on social
maladies. ‘Moondram ulaga por’ – Third world war’ is his third novel after
‘Kallikkatu ithikasam’ and ‘Karuvachi kaaviyam’ exemplifies it further. His
creations are not only with pen and paper, it gives the spirit of living. All
the chracters in his creations are not only simply characters but also the
living life.
Summary:
It is a story about a former. The importance of former and
farming is expressed in this novel. This book deals about a war, which is going
on now. This war is wages with hidden
weapons, a war between the sky and the earth. War waged on the people and the
nature. This world has not seen a war of this kind. This is the war waged by
global warming and globalization against agriculture. This story is surrounded
with a small farmer Karuthamayie and his two sons. The character Karuthammayie
resembles our mother, those who read the book wants to be one of her son.
Chinnpaandi a characterized farmer, Emili, the Atlanta beauty, Ishimuraas
unforgettable friendship, the villain
Muthu mani all these characters still lives in our mind. This novel is about
the present and future.
Literary significance and criticism:
”The nation that destroys it soil, destroys itself” –
Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
“Anubavikkiradhu mattum thaan kaase, adhukku mele padhukki
vaikuradhellam verum number thaan”
“Agriculture warrants the same amount of importance that’s
being given to the education sector”
The neglection of agriculture must be overcome. When we
complete this novel we will experience the life together with the farmer karuthamma.
It creates great respect over formers and leaves many questions about our
future.
This book does not
stop with highlighting problems but it gives solutios too.
“Give them
electricity and water. Then they will need neither the gods nor the governments
to save them”.
The part which I like most:
“How this man can always think fresh and see the usual things
in a different way?”
Whenever I read a Vairamuthu’s book, I will get impressed by
the language Tamil. Today we can kill the earth, can create infertility, the
body of mother of earth can be wounded by dangerous weapons, we can make it
more and more warm, but the third world war between the human race and the
earth may result ciaos in human life. The victory is devoted for earth not for
humans.
According to me a true warrior is one who does not talented
to swing his sword, but who stabilizes the world with his pull of plough on the
field.
So it is our duty to make the earth’s atmosphere cool and
comfortable. This is one of the best book for dealing with the environment
issues. I would like to suggest this book a must read.
